We were in Baling for Hari Raya when everyone was talking about the new Restoran Nasi Kandar Pokok Ketapang branch near the Billion Supermarket.
On Wednesday, on the way to Perlis we passed by the original outlet which is still under the pokok ketapang in Baling near the old bus station building. It has been face-lifted and 'since 1926' is written boldly on its facade. Then along the Gurun Alor Star highway, we overtook a van belonging to St Joseph Home (penang)... on its side, also written boldly, 'Established 1926'..... two 1926s within a span of about one hour... Deja Vu?
